About the Creator

Laura is a fiber artist based in Southeast Michigan. She is known for her highly textured wall hangings with small pops of beads, charms and special fibers. She uses these details to explore how wonder and magic can be found anywhere if you take the time to look. In pursuit of these magical details, her work often twines together weaving, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, knotting and mixed media. Working primarily on intuition, Laura rarely sketches or even sees a fully formed piece in her head. Instead, she starts with a rough idea and lets the fibers lead her.
