Erin Scully

Meet Erin Scully

Erin Scully is an oil painter located in Pecos, NM. She has earned two certificates of merit from The Penocotheque Museum in Luxembourg. Almost all of her oil paintings are created using a pallet knife which gives her pieces a wonderful raised, rough, impasto texture. She mixes her own paints together using primary colors to get the exact colors she’s looking for in the project. She also works on sculptures and pottery. You can learn more about Erin on her KRFTR profile.

Our Live Interview

I had a fantastic interview with Erin talking about abstract paintings, sculptures, and pottery. Painting can be very cathartic and the results are beautiful. Erin works with both oil and acrylic paint. You’ll have to watch the video to see why she gravitated towards using a pallet knife, it’s hilarious and effecient!

Painting from the Heart

Erin is not afraid to use dark colors that help the bright colors pop. Her work is strong and bold. Erin says her work is, “A representation of how my mind’s eye interprets thought, what I see and how I emotionally process.” Since she paints through emotion a lot of her work is very powerful.
