Ivy is a mother and artist based out of Pennsylvania. She studied at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia before graduating from Millersville University with a B.A. in art. After graduating she took additional design courses at the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design. When she’s not making art, she works as a bookkeeper and spends time with her family. She enjoys cooking, eating out, and traveling. You can learn more about her here.
Ivy loves to daydream and paint to escape from everyday life. Being creative is a way for her to express her freedom. She takes inspiration from long car rides and from her surroundings. She has designed clothing and fabric art with her designs. She uses gouache, acrylic, and watercolor in her paintings. The glass mosaics are put together with care and sparkle when the light hits them. She enjoys making landscape paintings and portraits. The majority of her work is between 8×10” and 11×14” because she enjoys working on a more intimate scale. It is fun to discover all the detail in her work.
I had a lovely time speaking with KRFTR member Ivy in regard to all of her beautiful artwork. We talked about the importance of story and emotion in artwork and why creative outlets are so important growing up. The call to be creative is strong!
Here is a look at some of Ivy’s work:
