We had the wonderful opportunity to connect with Jennifer “Brackett” LeRoy in the early stages of KRFTR, well before KRFTR had even launched! Jennifer is a a formally trained artist that graduated from the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago and had a residency at The Slade School of Fine Art in London. Ink, gouache, acrylic, printmaking, and spray-paint are in her arsenal. You can view her bio here in our showcase on KRFTR.
It was great to interview Jennifer during our #supportcreatorsweek2021 which was a week of supporting and highlighting artists before our launch on August 30th, 2021. We did a whole week worth of interviews and giveaways in anticipation of KRFTR launching. Our giveaway winner won a zombie portrait! You can see our interview with Jennifer here:
During the interview we learned more about the pinup and rockabilly communities. Jennifer is a pinup model. Horror is another area she loves. For example, movies like Return of the Living Dead and Near Dark are some of her favorites.
She loves doing portraits, especially if she can transform her subjects into zombies! It was so fun to learn that she would also zombify pets if she got that opportunity. When creating a zombie from scratch, she often names them fantastic names like “Lame Brain” shown below! While she loves to create with spray paint and other mediums, she will always identity as a fine artist. She works with fine art, digital art, and graphic design commissions.
If you are interested in commissioning Jennifer you can do so with KRFTR! A huge thank you to Jennifer for joining and being one of our founding members. It means a lot!
